...here are a few words you will encounter on Japanese laundry machines:

Kanji	Hiragana	Romaji	Meaning
洗濯	せんたく	sentaku	laundry
普段	ふだん	fudan	normal, or everyday (often the default wash cycle is labelled this way)
注水	ちゅうすい	chuusui	flood, or filling-with-water
行程	こうてい	koutei	distance. This is often used in combination with chuusui to indicate how much to fill the tub.
脱水	だっすい	dassui	spin-dry
	すすぎ	susugi	rinse
毛布	もうふ	moufu	blanket (these have special washing instructions)
洗濯石けん	せんたくいしけん	sentakuishiken	laundry detergent
